My name is Spencer Ian Harris and I grew up in California. I've lived in Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Oakland and SF.

I first picked up a camera in late 2013 while studying graphic design at OCC. The following semester I switched my focus to photography. In my first semester of photography classes I visited Sayulita, Mexico for a friends wedding. I instantly fell in love with the place and decided right then I was going to move there. First, I finished my semester of school and over the course of the summer managed to save enough money to buy my first DSLR camera. Armed with my new gear and surfboard I moved to Sayulita in late 2014.

When I first arrived in Sayulita I was taking daily walks around town and along the beaches capturing things of interest and epic sunsets. Slowly local people started asking if I could take photos for various events, restaurants, casitas and whatnot. I made a rule to say yes to everything, within reason, in order to put myself out of my comfort zone and increase my skills behind the lens. Over the past couple years I have shot many things including, events, concerts, weddings (as both second shooter & principal) portraits (familes, couples, kids) real estate, product, food, surf, landscapes and have assisted on some larger scale high end fashion productions as well. This wide range of experience has allowed me to become comfortable shooting in a variety of lighting conditions and situations.

I have recently narrowed my focus to lifestyle shoots, portrait sessions, weddings and creating surf art from inside the water. If you are in or around the Sayulita area feel free to contact me for your photographic needs.
